How do I register if I am a Cortland student?
Winter session registration will open for ALL matriculated students
(undergraduate and graduate) during the official WEB-registration
period. Students may register for both Winter and Spring 2009 once
their time-ticket becomes active. Time tickets will be released around
mid-October. Undergraduates will also need to have secured their registration
pin from their advisor.
--Bills will be mailed when web registration ends. Please remember
to allow enough time for the mail during holiday season as it takes
longer to reach its final destination. Items postmarked on or after
the due date are considered late and will be assessed a $50 late
fee. So please mail early!
--Students who do not pay their bills will be deregistered.
--Enrollments for Winter Session will then be confirmed and course
cancellation decisions will be made.
Students may continue to register for Winter session in the Registrar's
Office (undergraduates) and in the Office of Graduate Studies (graduates)
after web closing, up until the first day of Winter Session classes,
Monday, January 5, by using a non-web registration form. Payment
is required at the time of registration once the web closes and
registration is by paper form. There is NO
payment plan or financial aid available for Winter Session.
Employer reimbursement forms may be accepted earlier, but must be
presented no later than at the time of registration.
Timely registration for winter session is very important as course
availability is directly linked to course enrollment. To increase
the chances that your course will not be canceled, we advise all
registration forms, and tuition payments be made by December 5.

How do I register if I am NOT a Cortland
student?
ALL NON-MATRICULATED STUDENTS, including those visiting from
other colleges, may mail, fax, or deliver in person their registration
form once the web closes. Non-matriculated student registration
forms will be processed by the date received after all matriculated
students have registered. Payment of all tuition and fees must accompany
all Winter registration forms. The registration form will be available
on this and the Registrar's web site at: www.Cortland.edu/registrar/forms
after the web closes.
Non-matriculated undergraduate students may take a
maximum of 11.5 credit hours total before they must apply and
be accepted into a degree program. Registration forms should
be submitted to the Registrar's Office. Questions regarding undergraduate
registration should be addressed to the Registrar's Office at
(607) 753-4701.
Non-matriculated graduate students may take a maximum
of nine credit hours total before they must apply and be accepted
into a degree program. Registration forms should be submitted
to the Graduate Studies Office. Questions regarding registration
for graduate students should be addressed to the Graduate Studies
Office at (607) 753-4800.
All students may continue to register for Winter Session from the
close of web registration up through the first day of Winter Session
classes. Payment will be required at the time of registration for
all students who register after web registration closes.

Will taking a winter course allow me
to improve my GPA for student teaching, to get in my major, go
on my internship, etc.?
If you are a matriculated student here at Cortland, your
winter session class will be included in your GPA and be part
of your transcript. However, no academic decisions from the fall
term will be changed for spring by your winter session grade.
If your GPA at the end of the fall term was too low for student
teaching, to get into a major, go on an internship, or anything
else, a winter course grade will not be reported and computed
in time to change that decision.
