University Police Department

  • Access Control Division

The Access Control Division is responsible for planning, designing, programming and maintaining the card access system, the campus intrusion detection systems and the closed circuit television system.

Currently all of the on-campus residence halls have a card access system which allows only the residents and selected staff access to the building. Included in the card access system is a “propped” door alarm, which alerts the residents of the building of an unsecured door and also notifies the University Police Dispatch Center of the condition.

Closed circuit television cameras have also been installed in certain buildings. These cameras monitor the entrances, exits and the elevators. Additional cameras are planned in the near future for residence halls and parking lots.

The Access Control Division is headed by Eamon O'Shea and the office is located on the second floor, lobby area, of the Towers Complex.
