The State University of New York College at Cortland will be the site of a two-day interactive clinic for track & field coaches from across New York State. The event is tailored to high school and college coaches who might not be able to travel to Reno, Nevada for the annual USA Track & Field Pole Vault Summit.

The 2005 New York State Coaches Pole Vault Summit will be held December 10 and 11 on campus in Lusk Fieldhouse and the Sport Media & Technology Learning Center. The event will feature interactive presentations on coaching methods, training techniques and Dartfish digital video technology utilized by USA Track & Field.

Registration is $40, and it will benefit the track & field program at SUNY Cortland. If you are interested in attending click on the registration button above. The Cortland Hampton Inn is the official hotel for this event.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, pole vault coaching seminars will be held from 5-8 p.m. in the college's Sport Media & Technology Learning Center. Featured presenters include Dr. Peter McGinnis, USA Track & Field Pole Vault Coach and SUNY Cortland exercise science professor; Shawn Wilbourn, SUNY Cortland Director of Track & Field and former U.S. Track Team Member and NFL Player; Dr. Jeff Bauer
SUNY Cortland biomechanics professor; Daniel DePerno, SUNY Cortland sport management professor and Director of the Sport Media & Technology Learning Center and Enoch Borozinski, Syracuse University Pole Vault Coach.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, a "learn by doing" session will be held in Lusk Field House from 9 a.m. to noon in which coaches will receive hands-on training and instruction in pole vault drills and techniques.
