November, 2006 - The SUNY Cortland Department of Sport Management was recently awarded permission to produce the Asian Baseball Newsletter for the Asian Baseball Committee of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR). Professor David Snyder has been named Editor-in-Chief this bi-annual publication, and Professor Matt Seyfried and Professor Peter Han from the Department of Sport Management will serve as Managing Editors to assist in the production of the newsletter and in supervising student involvement the project. Opportunities exist for students to be assigned to positions with the newsletter, such as Assistant Editor and Production Director, and students may also contribute articles and features to the publication. The format will include the following regular features: (1) either pre-season predictions or a postseason wrap-up (depending upon the issue); (2) feature stories and articles; (3) a player profile or short biography; (4) a one-on-one interview; (5) a section on committee and membership activity; (6) an update from the committee chair; and (6) a book review. |
