Rozanne M. Brooks Museum, Lecture Series, and
Dedicated Teaching Award

The Rozanne M. Brooks Museum and lecture hall is located in Cornish Hall, Room D-312. More than 200 pieces of art represent the vibrant collection of the late Distinguished Teaching Professor Emerita of Sociology and Anthropology: Rozanne Brooks. Dr. Brooks, who taught from 1956 until her retirement in 1992, collected the items on numerous educational voyages. The items were donated to SUNY Cortland prior to Dr. Brooks' death in 1997. Cortland undergraduates in the department's museum studies course have gained hands-on experience cataloguing the collection for display.

The Brooks Museum Lecture Series offers three to four lectures per year. The lectures are given by scholars in the fields of history, anthropology, archaeology, and art history.

The Rozanne M. Brooks Dedicated Teacher's Award is presented to individuals who are outstanding teachers in the classroom, who spend considerable time with students and are very student oriented.
