Built in 1950, Cheney Hall is one of the original buildings of SUNY Cortland. It is also unique because it is one of SUNY Cortland’s three residence halls dedicated exclusively for freshman. Cheney Hall is primarily made up of double rooms off of a “T” shaped corridor and has residents residing on all four floors. The lower level has the recreation lounge , laundry facilities , study lounge , mailboxes, and a secondary entrance. Like all of our residence halls, Cheney is managed by a full time professional Residence Hall Director (RHD) who both lives and works in the hall.
