The 3+2 Physics/Engineering Major

The Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Major in Physics/Engineering at SUNY Cortland leads to a degree preparing students for work in some engineering field.   The student spends three years at Cortland where he or she satisfies all of the physics and college-wide requirements necessary for the degree from Cortland.  The student then applies to, and when accepted, transfers to the engineering school of his or her choice where the student spends two years finishing the requirements for an engineering degree.  The student may transfer back 30 free elective credits at any time and receive the necessary credit to receive the degree in physics from Cortland.  The curriculum is quite similar to that taken by a regular physics major and similar to those found in colleges and universities worldwide.  Substitutions for the 500 level courses are permitted.
