Ahmadi photo     I have received my PhD from Syracuse University in 2008, where I have been working on the dynamics of the cell cytoskeleton. My main interest is in theoretical biophysics which uses statistical physics and fluid mechanics to understand the forces present inside the living cell. These forces are responsible for many phenomena at the cellular level such as change in the shape of the cell, cell motion and cell division. This is a subfield of the study of out of equilibrium systems which are systems with a constant supply of energy. I also have a strong interest in astronomy and astrophysics; this is the topic that brought me into physics at the first place.

At a personal level, besides physics and biophysics and astrophysics, I enjoy playing piano, listening to music, reading books and seeing new places. I love good food and tasty pastries. And I have recently got my scuba diving license to explore the amazing world under the sea.
