What's New?
If you are interested, this is where I track major changes to the site.
May 17, 2007
- Got the site ready for a transition over to the Cortland webserver, and a new webmaster, one who will be better able to keep up with events on campus and in the philosophy department. Until my replacement is found, the website will be maintained by our faculty advisor Dr. Andrew Fitz-Gibbon, and all comments and complaints should be addressed to him. ;-)
April 3, 2007
- Added a blurb about the next Fundamentally Speaking lecture by Edward Larsen to the Fundamentally Speaking page.
March 27, 2007
- Converted the page about classes to a page about 2006/2007 classes.
- Made a new page about 2007/2008 classes.

February 5, 2007

December 9, 2006
- Major changes to navigation scheme. Changed from: [ Home | Events | Listserv | Constitution | Philosophy Department | Philosophy Classes | What's New? ] to: [ Home | Events | About Us | Philosophy
at Cortland | What's New? ] because as the site has grown, the original navigation scheme has become unwieldy and confusing. Now, any page on the website is no more than three clicks away. Navigation links at the top of the page take you to a page that allow you to navigate to the pages under that category. This is in preparation for a move to CSS and drop-down menus using Java Script, a change I hope to implement as soon as the semester is over.
- Repurposed the Events page now contains links to the Events subheadings rather than the Events Calendar. Events Calendar split into two separate pages, one for Fall 2006 for archive purposes, and one for Spring 2007. Moved the Events at Nearby Philosophy Departments that was below the Events Calendar to yet another page, and added content breaking the Events Calendar into subheadings: General Campus Events, Philosophy Department Events, and Philosophy Club Events. This will give people two ways to find events of philosophical interest both on campus and off - either chronologically through the Events Calendar, or by category through the Event Links page.
- Created an About Us page, that contains links to information about the Social Philosophy Club, such as the Constitution [PDF] of the club, an informational PowerPoint slide show, and information on our meetings and the philosophy club listserv.
- Created a Philosophy at Cortland page, which contains links to pages about the Social Philosophy Department, and Philosophy classes at Cortland.
- Changed the original Contact Me link in the footer to Email Me for greater user clarity.
- Added a Back to Top link at the bottom of every page for greater ease of navigation.
- Uploaded an informational PowerPoint slide show about the Social Philosophy Club, intended for use at Open Houses.
- Identified all links to PDFs as [PDF] to increase user-friendliness.
- Added a page about the Senior Philosophy Presentations for Fall 2006.
- Added the Senior Philosophy Presentations to the Fall 2006 Events Calendar and to the Events Links page.
November 14, 2006
- Added a page about the slam poet Michelle Berry's performance at SUNY Cortland - She Said What?
- Added that event to the Events page.
- Updated information on the upcoming 2006 Annual Conference of the CNY Peace Studies Consortium, which is being held at SUNY Cortland and features many of the SUNY Cortland Philosophy faculty and students.
