This week's topic: Laws Protecting Women - Pros and Cons

How do we feel about laws protecting women? Are there alternate ways of assuring the safety of everyone in a more neutral fashion? Discuss how power (political, academic, etc.) can or cannot influence the ways in which we view consent, age of consent, etc.

In addition to this week's discussion topic, we also need to deal BRIEFLY with the following business items:

  1. Club fundraiser. We are planning on raffling of a copy of Philosophy of the Matrix, along with a copy of the movie. Purchase orders need to be signed by the treasurer, and other details finalized.
  2. Other budget issues. Dr. Fitz-Gibbon has had some excellent ideas for effective budget allocation that he will share with the club this week.
  3. Party time!! We need to plan details for a end of semester party, which will double as a farewell and congrats for our upcoming grads Chris Boeres, Matt Auble, and Meaghan Connaire.
