Kim Hubbard
KIM L. HUBBARD (Highland) has been a working actor, writer and director of stage, film and television for over thirty-five years. He is a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Actor’s Equity Association and the Writer’s Guild. As an actor, his work has ranged from playing a regular on the classic day-time soap, “The Edge of Night” to character film roles in “The Verdict,” with Paul Newman, to a snobbish talent critic opposite Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty in “Ishtar.” He has also worked as a professional stunt performer and coordinator for film and television, even stage, just to prove he has no common sense what-so-ever. More recently he was the brutally murdered father in the cult classic, “Mr. Halloween,” and the Satan-disguised priest in the soon-to-be-released occult thriller, “Disturbing the Priest.”
He has also done well over 100 television commercials and industrial films as an actor and director. His voice-over resume spans decades and includes all performance mediums. The annual Halloween DVD favorite, “The Old Quarry: And Other Haunted places of Central New York,” has just received its third reissue. Part two is currently in production. He also enjoys steady bookings as a guest lecturer on topics ranging from “Old Hollywood” to the paranormal.
As a syndicated columnist, Mr. Hubbard’s editorials and humorous observations on life and the world around him have appeared in newspapers across the country and can soon be found on-line in his own weekly blog. His latest play, “A Winner’s Tale-A Comedy of Monetary Proportions,” just received its world premier at SUNY Cortland, where he has been teaching Acting and Theatre History, as well as directing many of the school’s Lab theatre performance projects. His hope is that he offers his students constructive, useful guidance and basic instruction in the performing arts as they pursue a course is a very tough and demanding business. He is married to wife, Beth, with whom they have two grown daughters, Amanda and Mariah. All three, through their continued love and support, help keep him busy and focused on new projects.
