Pileus dull olivaceous, yellow brown to darker brown, subtomentose, areolate with yellow interspaces, stipe yellow, pruinose, somewhat ribbed at apex. The pileipellis reacts reddish when ammonia is applied. The pallid context does not turn blue when cut, although the pores turn slightly greenish, then brown when bruised.
