Pileus pale, grayish-white with pale pink tones, becoming darker in age, pore surface yellow becoming greenish-olive, bruising blue; stipe reticulated, yellow above, red below; taste bitter. Murrill remarked "I cooked and ate three without harmful effects, but the mess was highly distasteful, hence the name chosen."
