A slender-stiped bolete with reddish-brown colors in pileus and stipe, the stipe being ornamented with "elevated lines which amastomose and form very long narrow reticulations" (Peck). The tubes are white, becoming vinaceous-flesh color when mature. The spores are roughened and pitted. The slender stipe gradually enlarges downward.
