My Ideal
"Technology-Rich"
Classroom

Oh, to have all the money in the school budget to make every classroom "Technology-Rich!"
It wouldbe absolutely amazing to be guaranteed a classroom that had all of the technologically advanced tools in it that I wanted. And, to be able to operate and successfully use those as well!
My ideal "technology-rich" classroom would include everything from computers, to scanners, to digital cameras, to televisions, VCR's, and CD players! The most complex, to the most simple, but all equally as necessary! Each and everyone of these tools has the capabilities to improve education for children, from increased motivation, to helping those with disabilities. All of these tools create endless possibilities for students, some possibilities they may never even know exist!
First, and most importantly, my classroom would have to have someone, myself in this case, be knowledgeable in all of these tools in my "tech-rich" classroom. I would have to have the proper training to be able to use and teach my students to use all of these tools. What good are they if nobody knows how to use them? It would be ideal for the district to pay for, or offer, courses in using and teaching these technological tools. Have the teachers get a hands-on experience, see if it is something they are comfortable using in their classroom! Teach teachers how and why they should use these in their classroom, make it less scary for them!
Personally, I would attend courses n teaching and using these machines, because I feel they have educational value in the school setting. Many teachers are afraid to get to know how to use these machines because they are not properly trained-well get them out there and use them! These are excellent resources to have! Now, for the real deal! In my classroom, after learning how to use all of this technology, i want to be able to incorporate it into lessons with my students! I want my children to explore their possibilities, their creativity, their talent! I would love to have all of the materials in my classroom that I mentioned above!
Some schools and districts are not even wealthy enough to have televisions in their classrooms. How upsetting is that? Not to sit and watch TV, but to be informed of what is going on in the community, state, country and world! Tv's are one way to get informed! Along with many others. These resources enable children to incorporate technology into their classroom and learning environment. Perhaps it is all the opportunity they have to use such
hi-tech machines. I want to give my children a chance to discover what is out there. I know, if i had the chance to use half of the technology I use now when I was in school, I would not be so afraid to use it more often.I truly feel teachers need to be trained in how to use the technology today! There is a huge gap between students and teachers today when it comes to technology, and it is the responsibility of the district to make sure its students have the best education possible!
