To Whom it May Concern:

While reading "World Must Pitch in to Rebuild Afghanistan" (November 18th, 2001) I found myself smiling.  Despite all that has gone on these past few months, and the hatred I am positive some Americans have toward those in Afghanistan, this article gave me some hope that there are people in this American community who can see that not everyone in Afghanistan is happy Americans have suffered.  Sometimes, I wonder if the people of Afghanistan sit back and laugh at what has happened to our beautiful country, but then I realize, I, an American, am not laughing at what has happened to the country of Afghanistan. It's not funny at all.

I hope more people can see and understand that the country of Afghanistan has to be rebuilt like ours.  We, as Americans, have pulled together, perhaps more than usual, and have began to rebuild our country.  Well, it's nice to see some people in our country are willing to overcome such tragedy and help other countries destroyed to rebuild their communities as well.  We know the suffering we have gone through, why place the blame on other innocent people in Afghanistan, when we know what it has been like for us?  Lets be the stronger people in this fight against terrorism!

Sincerely,
