Directions to/from Country Inn & Suites

 

From Syracuse and points north on I-81

From I-81 take Exit 12 (Homer/Cortland).
Follow signs to 281-Ithaca (approx 1 mile to end of ramp). (Do not get off prematurely at the exit onto US 11.)
Turn left on 281 and go 3 miles.
Hotel will be located on the right.

 

From Binghamton and points south on I-81

Take Interstate 81 north to Cortland Exit 11.
Turn left off the exit ramp onto Clinton Avenue Extension.
At the second traffic light take a right on Clinton Avenue/Route 13.
Drive about one mile to get downtown.
Continue straight ahead across Main Street where Clinton Avenue will become Groton Avenue/NY 222.
After about another mile and at the 4th light (major intersection) take a left turn onto 281.
Go about one-half mile.
Hotel will be on your right.

 

From Ithaca and points SW on NY Rte 13

Take Route 13 north to Route 281 north (in Cortland), which begins at approximately the A&W Restaurant (on left-hand side).
Stay straight on Route 281 instead of bearing right on Route 13 when approaching the A&W.
Take Route 281 north for approximately one mile.
Hotel will be on your left.

 

From Country Inn & Suites to Cortland Campus

[Of course, you are right across the road from the Stadium Entrance to the lower campus. The more adventurous of you might like to wend your tortuous way to the upper campus. If so, you might find the map at http://www.cortland.edu/math/seawaymeeting/mappark01.jpg helpful. In spite of the fact that your path will wind around, there are very few place you can go astray. Mostly it is almost one road, albeit crooked, with different names along the way. The route is Stratton Drive, Lankler Drive, Folmer Drive, Pashley Drive, a light as you cross Broadway, Neubig Road (mild uphill grade), Prospect Terrace (stronger uphill grade), left onto Graham Avenue, left into Gerhart Drive.]

For the less daring:
Turn left onto Route 281 as you leave the hotel.
Take Route 281 north for approximately one-half mile to Route 222/Groton Avenue (first light after Tops Supermarket).
Take a right-hand turn onto Route 222/Groton Avenue.
Proceed somewhat less than one mile to the second traffic light.
Take a right-hand turn onto Graham Avenue (a steep uphill grade).
Make a right-hand turn onto Gerhart Drive, which leads you into the major parking lot on the upper campus.

1. For Friday evening, go all the way to the end of the lot. Facing the end of the lot, you should see the Campus Security Office to your left. Follow the pedestrian walkway off to the right. This walkway will soon enter a smaller parking lot between two buildings. The building to your right will be the Fay Corey Student Union. Take the elevator up to the Function Room.
2. On Saturday go only about half way to the end. (This you will know if you have been there Friday night.) Alternatively, your landmark to park near should be the main power plant, recognizable by one large smokestack and three smaller ones. Walk up a stairway keeping a small greenhouse to your left. The Sperry Learning Resources Center will be the large blockhouse-like structure directly ahead of you.
