IRB Application Portal
SUNY Cortland uses a primary review procedure that begins with submitting information and required documents to the IRB. To ensure your application is reviewed in a timely manner, submit applications, consent/assent forms, and all supporting materials as an email attachment to irb@cortland.edu.
Original signature-bearing documents must be sent by US Mail or intercampus mail, addressed to Institutional Review Board, PO Box 2000, Miller Building Room 402, Cortland, NY 13045. Examples of signtature-bearing documents include: Appendix A (signature page); institutional permission letters; Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), etc. Investigators conducting research off campus can submit Appendix A by fax, and can ask outside agencies to send their permission letters, MOUs, etc by fax as well. This policy is consistent with current federal regulations concerning the submission of signature-bearing documents.
When all documents have been received, exempt and expedited applications are forwarded to the Chair and/or the primary reviewer. Confirmed full review applications are forwarded to the IRB Chair for placement on the agenda. Full board meetings are scheduled for the fall semester as follows:
October 13
November 10
