Nola Butler Byrd is a scholar and Assistant Professor in the Community-Based Block Program in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology, College of Education, San Diego State University. Her research interests include: experiential multicultural education and counseling for social justice, indigenous healing and world view, somatic body work, multicultural identity development, multi-ethnic faculty retention, and community practice. Men was born in 1985, when John was a teacherÕs assistant in an adaptive weight training class at Santa Barbara City College. Claudia Peralta Nash is an assistant professor in the Department of Professional Studies at California State University, Chico. Her research centers on educational issues related to Spanish speaking and English language learners in U.S. schools. She is specifically interested in issues related to the development of bilingualism, biliteracy, and social justice. Her most recent research examines teacher preparation practices. Joseph M. Rayle is an associate professor in the Department of Foundations and Social Advocacy at the State University of New York College at Cortland. Mara Sapon-Shevin is Professor of Inclusive Education in the Teaching and Leadership Department of the School of Education at Syracuse University. She teaches in the UniversityÕs Inclusive Elementary and Special Education Teacher Education Program that prepares teachers for inclusive, heterogeneous classrooms. The author of over 250 books, book chapters and articles, Mara writes extensively about the fields of full inclusion, cooperative learning, social justice education and teaching for diversity. Robin M. Smith is an Associate Professor of Special education at The State University of New York, New Paltz. Her research interests include Disability Studies, the ethical impact of policy and practice and practical implications, and disability humor.
