This website is a great source for maps and current events resources. It also has a link to “History and Culture” that contains fantastic photos that can be used to supplement lessons. U.S. State Maps and Quizzes

The site provides a great source of U.S. state maps and information. By clicking on an individual state a map comes up highlighting a variety of information pertaining to that state. This website provides a vast amount of material for both students and teachers. The site includes lesson plans, activities, and materials on geographic aspects of U.S. history. The site also provides links to each of the National Parks, including Gettysburg National Military Park and others that have historical significance. - J.W.

This site is a great place to go for the national standards for teaching geography, finding maps to use in class, and for lesson plan ideas. It has a link for “The map of the week” which deals with current event issues around the world, and geography based activities for the classroom and the school.
