In March 2001, Dr. Robert Darling travelled to Nepal as part of a research project with Dr. Louis Derry and Ph.D student, Matt Evans (Cornell University). The three geologists are studying hot spring and river water chemistry as well as fluid inclusions in late stage hydrothermal quartz.
