Geology - What are geology and the geosciences?

Cortland's Department of Geology prides itself in offering strong and challenging majors and curricula in Geology and the Geosciences, Environmental Science, Water Resources, and Adolescence Earth Science Education. The Department offers an excellent undergraduate program of study involving students in coursework, independent research, and field experiences. Our motto is "Involvement!" Students take part in all aspects of their education, including teaching, research, field trips and college activities. The department has five full-time faculty, several adjunct faculty, and diverse teaching and research interests throughout its curricula.
