At its December 3 meeting held at SUNY Farmingdale, the GEAR Group and visitors from other campuses heard presentations from SUNY Farmingdale, Nassau Community College, and the University at Stony Brook on their general education assessment plans. Specifically, each campus provided a detailed example of how it intends to measure one of the learning outcomes included in the Implementation Guidelines. SUNY Farmingdale presented the social science outcome, Nassau Community College the natural science outcome, and the University at Stony Brook the mathematics competency.
Each of the PPT presentations used by the presenters can now be accessed through the GEAR Group web page. Of course, PPT presentations may not provide as much detail as you would like, so feel free to contact Melanie Vainder at Farmingdale, KumKum Prabhakar at Nassau, and Kathleen Breidenbach at Stony Brook if you require additional information.
