How to Apply for SUNY Cortland Continuing Student Scholarships

Step 1: Review the Scholarship Chart SCHOLARSHIP CHART

The scholarship chart has been created to help expedite the process of searching for SUNY Cortland scholarships.

  • Application required - Does a scholarship require an application.
  • Need-based - Based totally or partially on whether or not a student has need. Students must file a FAFSA to determine need.
  • Merit-based - Based on GPA, leadership activities, something more than just need.
  • Class year - Shows what class standing you have to have to receive the award. Remember that in most instances you will be applying for the next school year not the current one.  So if you are a sophomore today and you are applying for a scholarship for the following year you should be looking at the junior level scholarships.

  • Then take a moment and scan right across that column and check to see if you would be eligible for it based on the major and criteria listed.
  • If  you do not meet the initial eligibility requirements then continue scanning down the Grade Level Column repeating the above steps.
