Retrieve Password by Email Learners and Specialty Users
Please use the Forgot Your Password? link from the eLearning Log In Page if you believe you placed your email address in the eLearning System. This will send a new password to your email address and you may then log in. If you place an email address in the Forgot Your Password box and it is not recognized you will need to have your password reset.
NOTE: Once your password has been reset please place your personal email address in the eLearning system.
Inserting your Preferred Email Address for Password Retrieval:
- Top right select My Settings,
- Click on Edit Profile,
- Add email address of your choice,
- Click Save.
Now if you forget your password the system will email you a new one.
NEXT - Set your Forward Email Setting
If you would like to have your eLearning emails sent to this email address that you have just entered click on the Tabs:
- My Tool Options before you leave the My Setting area.
- Scroll down to Mail - Mail Forwarding and check mark the Forward all Messages item.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
You cannot answer your eLearning email from your personal email accounts but a complete copy of the message will be forwarded so you no longer need to constantly log in to check for email correspondences.
Password Reset - Learners and Specialty Users
There are three ways in which a password can be reset and they are listed below. If you need any assistance in understanding how these reset mechanisms work please contact us at eLearningHelp Online.
- Go to the Technology Help Center (THC) located in Winchell Hall with your SUNY Cortland ID to have your account reset Mon-Thurs: 8-7, Friday: 8-4:30. This is regular business hours, if you want make sure they are open you may call first at 607-753-2500.
- Send a fax to the THC (753-5599), requesting a eLearning Password reset. The request should include copy of Cortland ID or Current Driver License with your Cortland ID and signature. YOU MUST write legibly. (NOTE: IF you are a system Specialty Program User you will not have a Cortland ID Number. Therefore you must include your Specialty Program Name and your Username for the eLearning System. In addition you must send a copy of a current ID such as a State Recognized ID, Drivers License or an Educational Institution ID.)
- Use the eLearningHelp Online Form and our eLearning Support team can contact your professor (or Specialty Course contact person) to confirm enrollment and then send your request on to the eLearning Administrator. (This method generally takes the longest.) Please do not contact the eLearning Administrator directly because our elearning Support Team must contact your course instructor for enrollment confirmation.
