Video Duplication
Service Description
CMS has equipment to copy video from several technical formats to the same or other formats. The duplication is a straight one-to-one process which does not include editing, extracting portions or compiling materials. Editing and compiling of video material is a service of the Memorial Library Production Services. Contact the Digital Imaging Specialist at (607) 753- 4890.

Using this Service
Contact CMS to make arrangements to drop off your materials for duplication. The materials will be reviewed for copyright compliance, technical quality and compatibility before copying. In some cases CMS may not be able to duplicate the material with the assets available to them in which case the client will be so informed and the media returned.

Features & Functions
Duplications can generally be made from the following formats to the following formats in these combinations:
VHS to DVD, DVD to VHS, MiniDV to VHS, VHS to MiniDV, MiniDV to DVD, DVD to DVD.
Customer Responsibilities
Responsibility for making sure there are no copyright restrictions on any materials is the client’s. Permissions to copy commercially produced or any other media which may fall under the copyright protections must be presented to CMS in writing prior to the duplication process.
CMS will provide blank media for up to 5 DVD copies of any one item. We no longer carry a stock of VHS or MiniDV tapes. Should you need additional copies we will be happy to recommend an outside vendor.
Policies or Service Requirements
In general CMS will attempt to provide you with your copies as quickly as possible but please allow for two weeks in your plans.
