Usha Balamore, Ph.D.
Dr. Usha Balamore is the Assistant Head of Lower School and Director of Character Education at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. During her thirty-five years as an educator, she has served many roles: kindergarten teacher, high school gym teacher, school psychologist, college professor, and head of school. Throughout these experiences, she has continually pursued her passion to promote understanding and unity in the world, and has developed a variety of classroom strategies to "help children fall in love with Goodness."
In 2003, she co-authored Teaching Goodness: Engaging the Moral and Academic Promise of Children, illustrating classroom strategies that enhance performance character and moral character. Dr. Balamore has been influential in encouraging administrators, parents, and teachers in private and public schools to attend to the moral, academic, and spiritual needs of children.
