To
go or not to go? Decide at least a year in advance! The Career Services
Office can help you to prepare. From explaining time lines, to providing
information on entrance tests, to preparing applications and recommendations,
the Career Services Library has the information to guide you along the
way.
Graduate school provides access to many careers: teachers in
New York state must complete a masters degree to become professionally
certified; social workers must earn a MSW to practice; chiropractors
gain their license from chiropractic schools; academic faculty achieve
access to college teaching through PhDs in their discipline. However,
not everyone must go to grad school.
Each person's decision should be based upon his or her career
goals and the graduate school options available. Explore options.
Read about programs, talk to academic faculty and Career Services
staff about possibilities.
