Cortland Biology Department's

Community Service Connections

The Cortland Department of Biological Sciences is in the process of initiating several community outreach programs. We would like to involve local and state community members as well as interested individuals from around the nation in some of our research projects. We also offer our expertise to those in the community who might find it helpful. In particular, high school teachers and students are encouraged to use us as a resource.

Bowers Hall Museum

  • Museum Resources

The Bowers Science Museum, in the main lobby and other areas within Bowers Hall, is actively renovating its displays with support from Auxiliary Services Corp.  Along with several displays featuring birds, there are exhibits explaining conservation issues, endangered species, aspects of evolution, earthquakes, paleontology, and much more.   In addition, special exhibits showcase the College's field sites at Raquette lake and Hoxie Gorge, as well as field classes in the Adirondacks and Belize.
