16th ranked Cortland edged second seeded Geneseo to advance to the SUNYAC finals in a classic pitcher's duel spanning 11 innings. The Red Dragons' Erika Cremona (Mastic Beach/William Floyd HS) matched the Blue Knight's Audrey Kuhn (Balston Lake/Shenendehowa HS), with both pitchers blanking the scoreboard until Jen Rockwell (Scotia/Scotia HS) drove a RBI double to the left centerfield gap, scoring Kim Wood (Equinunk, Pa./Hancock HS)from second base. In the bottom of the tenth inning, Cortland loaded up the bases with one out, and Kim Huson (Binghamton/Johnson City) faced a full count before Kuhn used a strike out and a ground out to escape the inning. In the top of the 11th inning, Kuhn barely missed cracking a homerun, doubling to centerfield with one out, and moved to third on a single from Jodi Guilboard (Nassau/Columbia HS), but relief pitcher Stephanie Adamshick (Milton/Marlboro HS) retired the sde to escape the jam, setting up the Red Dragon's 11th inning rally.
