New Program Development
Since 2000 seven new major
program proposals have been approved by SUNY System
Administration. These majors complement the traditional major
programs (over 30) offered in the School of Arts and Sciences, as well
as teacher preparation programs in Adolescence
Education. Arts
and Sciences also offers relatively new programs in Professional
Writing, Musical Theatre, Business Economics, and Social
Philosophy. The School of Arts and Sciences has
also been active
in developing new learning community programs for our
students. Many of these initiatives were supported
by a Title III grant
from the Department of Education.

The School of Arts and Sciences is the home of most of these programs, our goal is to provide a Learning Community experience for every first-year arts and sciences and pre-major student.
