Thursday, July 16, 2009

7 p.m. Class of 1949 Welcome Pizza Party, Red Dragon Restaurant. The class celebrating their 60th reunion will kick off our reunion in a laid-back atmosphere. This casual event will offer plenty of time for them to share new happenings and reminisce about their time at Cortland!*

Friday, July 17, 2009

9 a.m. Class of 1949 Bus Day Trip. Bus departs the Quality Inn at 9 a.m. Enjoy an exciting day by Motor Coach! First stop is Cornell University's world famous Lab of Ornithology at Sapsucker Woods. After viewing many species of birds found at the Lab, they will enjoy a boat cruise on Cayuga Lake which features miles of beautiful natural scenery. The final stop will be a special luncheon at Taughannock Farms Inn overlooking Taughannock State Park.*

9:45 a.m. Class of 1959 Cayuga Lake Boat/Luncheon Cruise. Bus departs at 9:45 a.m. from the Hampton Inn. The Class of 1959 has the unique opportunity to enjoy lunch on one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. The cost of the cruise includes boat tour of Cayuga Lake, bus ride and lunch.*

10 a.m. Eighteen-Hole Golf Tournament, Walden Oaks Country Club. The format of the tournament is captain and crew. Registration fee includes preceeding light refreshments, eighteen holes, light lunch at the turn, golf cart and prizes. Alumni, friends and businesses have the opportunity to support the SUNY Cortland Alumni Association by sponsoring a hole. If interested, please contact the Alumni Affairs Office at (607) 753-2516.*

1 – 10 p.m. General Registration and Information, Corey Union, Room 209.

4– 5 p.m. Reunion Committee Recognition Reception, Education Building. The Alumni Reunion Committee members are invited to a special reception hosted by President Erik J. Bitterbaum in the newly opened Education Building. This is an opportunity for class committee members of all years to meet, share ideas and kick off the weekend in the proper fashion.

5:30 p.m. Class of 1949 Dinner, Cortland Country Club. The 60th anniversary dinner will feature a delightful program planned by the reunion committee.*

5:30 p.m. Class of 1959 Dinner, Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. The 50th celebration begins with a sit-down dinner in the SUNY Cortland Alumni House picturesque gardens. A class photo will preceed the dinner which starts at 7 p.m. The program is provided by the reunion committee.*

6 – 10 p.m. Theta Phi Welcome Party, Brockway Hall front lawns. Sisters are invited to share purple and gold memories at their garden BBQ.*

7 p.m. Class of 1984 Welcome Party, Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. Alumni celebrating their silver anniversary will enjoy a casual BBQ on the front lawns of the SUNY Cortland Alumni House.*

7 p.m. Media Clubs Reunion Welcome Party, Hairy Tony's Pub (formerly Friday's). Alumni who participated in the student newspaper, CSTV, the radio station or Uniplanet/NeoVox will start their first-ever reunion in a casual location downtown.*

7 p.m. Class of 1994 Welcome Party, Hendrick Hall Quad. The Class of '94 will enjoy a casual pizza party and remember their times in the quad.*

7 – 11 p.m. Reunion Kick-Off Party, Corey Union Function Room . Begin your weekend with good friends and dinner, complimentary beer, wine and non-alcoholic refreshments.*

8 a.m. – Noon and 2 – 8 p.m. General Registration and Information, Corey Union, Room 209.

8 – 9:30 a.m. Hot Breakfast Buffet, Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. Alumni from all class years are welcome to enjoy a hot breakfast in the gardens behind the historic mansion. *

8 a.m. Partners in Leadership Breakfast, Brockway Hall Jacobus Lounge. President Erik J. Bitterbaum will host donors of $1,000 or more in recognition of their support of the College. By invitation only.

9 – 4 p.m. Building Open Houses. The following buildings will be open for you to look through at your leisure: Moffett Center, Bowers Hall, Old Main and Dowd Fine Arts Center.

9 – 11 a.m. Exploring the History of Hoxie Gorge, bus leaves SUNY Cortland Alumni House at 8:45 a.m. Timothy J. Baroni, Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences and noted Mycologist, will present the natural history of Hoxie Gorge Nature Preserve with an emphasis on mushroom and fungi. This hike is limited to the first thirty registrants.*

9:30 – 11 a.m. Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House Tours Enjoy learning more about the historic 1912 mansion that now serves as a magnificent gathering place for all SUNY Cortland alumni. Shuttles will be available from Corey Union to the Alumni House.

9:30 – 11 a.m. Theta Phi Breakfast Business Meeting, Neubig Hall. The sorority will conduct their business meeting while enjoying a breakfast in the completely renovated dining hall. *

9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Nu Sigma Chi Alumnae Tea, Nu Sigma Chi Sorority House, 52 Prospect Terrace. Visit with sorority board members and current sisters and spend some enjoyable time remembering stories together.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Memorial Library Tours. The College Memorial Library will be open for self-guided tours, and the College Archives will be available for perusal. See the librarian on duty.

Noon – 2 p.m. Alumni Luncheon, Corey Union Function Room. The luncheon honors reunion classes and this year’s Distinguished Alumni recipients. Class reunion gifts are presented to President Erik J. Bitterbaum. The Reunion raffle prizes will be announced at the luncheon. The luncheon could sell out.*

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Alpha Kappa Phi/Agonian, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Sigma Rho Sigma Meeting, Corey Union Fireplace Lounge. The sorority will conduct its annual meeting.

3 5:30 p.m. All-Greek Reception, Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. SUNY Cortland fraternity and sorority alumni are invited to the second annual all-Greek gathering underwritten by the Nu Sigma Chi Legacy Fund. Refreshments will be served.*

5:30 p.m. Classes of '49 and '53 Dinner and a Play, The 55th and 60th reunion classes will enjoy separate dinners at The Community Restaurant and then enjoy the Cortland Repertory Theater's production of "Damn Yankees!"*

5:30 p.m. Theta Phi Sorority Dinner, Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. The sorority will enjoy a program provided by the reunion committee in the beautiful Alumni House gardens. A sorority photo will be taken prior to the dinner which begins at 7 p.m.*

5:30 p.m. Class of '64 Reunion Celebration, Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. The Class of 1964 will enjoy a buffet dinner on the beautiful front lawns of the Alumni House. A class photo will be taken prior to the start of the dinner*

6 p.m. Half Century Club Dinner, Corey Union Fireplace Lounge. Cortland alumni who have already celebrated their golden anniversary are invited to enjoy a special evening in the student union.*

6 p.m. Class of '59 Reunion Celebration, Cortland Country Club. The party continues for the 50th anniversary class at the local country club with heavy hors d'oeurves.  Following the dinner, a DJ will play music from the 1950s and classmates can dance the night away.*

6 p.m. Class of '69 Reunion Celebration, Park Center Hall of Fame Room. The 40th anniversary class will enjoy a dinner in a room dedicated to our strongly athletic history.*

6 p.m. Class of '74 Reunion Celebration, The Hollywood Restaurant. The Class of '74 will meet at the popular gathering spot of the 70s for a sit down meal.*

6 p.m. Class of '79 Reunion Celebration, Brockway Hall Jacobus Lounge. The 30th anniversary class will enjoy dinner together before heading to the concert.*

6 p.m. Class of 1984 Silver Anniversary Dinner, Corey Union Caleion Room. The Class of 1984 will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m., class photo at 7 p.m. and dinner beginning at 7:30 p.m. led by the class planning committee.*

6 8 p.m. Red Dragon Reunion Dinner (for the Classes of '89, '94, '99 and the Media Clubs Reunion), Neubig Hall. Classmates will enjoy made-to-order meals in the newly renovated dining hall before departing for the concert. Classes will be seated together in their own sections.*

8 p.m. The FabCats Concert, Corey Union Function Room. All reunion classes are invited to enjoy this 60s cover band. As they state, "This is not your father's oldie's band!" A selection of desserts will be offered. *

8 p.m. All-Greek Party, Dark Horse Tavern. Greeks are invited to celebrate at the popular downtown location. For more information, contact Kathy Steuber '94 at kathystoob26@aol.com.*

9 – 11 a.m. All Class Farewell Breakfast, Corey Union Caleion Room. Say farewell to new and old friends during a hot breakfast.*

9 – 10:30 a.m. Theta Phi Farewell Breakfast Buffet, Brockway Hall front lawns. The last opportunity to catch up on Theta Phi memories.*

10:30 a.m. Theta Phi Sorority House Tour. Sisters are invited to tour 21 W. Court St.
