New Network Security Measures

Mission Statement

The campus relies more heavily than ever on electronic communication and record keeping, and also depends on Information Resources technologists to prevent unauthorized access to information and technology resources. We have installed firewalls, antivirus software and automatic security updates on all campus computers. We require faculty and staff to "authenticate" by using passwords in order to use their office computers. To further protect the campus, beginning in January 2006, we will require this same type of authentication in technology classrooms and public computer labs. Please read the information below which gives background information and explains the process. You may contact Daniel Sidebottom (daniels@cortland.edu) if you have questions or would like more information. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and secure computer environment for the campus community. Thank you and enjoy the holiday season.
