Senate
Executive Board Senate Clubs & Organizations Services Program Planning

The students of SUNY Cortland do hereby establish an organization of self-government where power is vested in the Student Senate, representing the SUNY Cortland student body. After soliciting student concerns and discussing proper action with the Senate, decisions are made to ensure academic freedom and promote the welfare of the student body.

The Senate is comprised of Senators and Club Representatives. Each SGA recognized organization is mandated to send a representative to Senate to report on its club’s business and programming. Students who wish to be considered for a Senator position must submit a petition signed by 50 fellow students. The Senate must approve all Senators and Club Representatives. Student Senate meetings are held every Monday at 7:00pm in the Fireplace Lounge in Corey Union. SGA encourages any student with campus issues to attend and share your concerns. All are welcome!
