With instruction in:
American Sign Language (ASL), Arabic, Chinese, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), ESL for international students, German, Italian, French, and Spanish. 

We offer a number of undergraduate academic programs in Foreign Languages : Students can major or minor in French or Spanish and may also obtain a degree leading to qualification for certification in French or Spanish Adolescence (Secondary) Education in New York State. Our B.A. in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) has both a certification and non-certification track.

Our Dual French and Spanish Adolescence Education major leads to dual certification as a French and Spanish teacher.

At the graduate level we offer an M.S. Ed. in Second Language Education (SLED) with specializations in French, Spanish, or English as a Second language leading to permanent certification in New York State. We also have Dual-Diploma programs training English teachers from Anadolu University in Turkey and Azerbaijan University of Languages.

International Communications and Culture offers courses designed to prepare students for the job market such as Teaching Foreign Languages in Elementary School (FLES), Spanish for the Professions, French through the Media, Integrating Technology in the Foreign Language Classroom, and many  courses in which students learn to use the latest technologies.

What can I do with a foreign language major?

We believe strongly in the importance of real world experience in the acquisition of language and culture. To this end we encourage students to participate in study abroad though our programs in Spain, Mexico, France, Venezuela, China, and Germany,
